You are responsible for your body!

You are responsible for how your body looks. If you are not happy with it then you need to look at what you are doing day in and day out.

Your body never lies. If you do not look after your body the way you should then it will show up in some way, shape or form. That can differ from person to person but your lack of self care will manifest itself.

It may be in the form of some disease, overweight or structural injury. The end result does not matter it is how you got there is the problem.

Imagine your house. If you never cleaned your house, put the heating on, ventilated the rooms or repaired anything that went wrong, how do you think the house would look. I am sure there would be a fairly bad smell, probably be infested with rodents and you would have damp and mold growing all over the house.

What makes you think your body is any different?

Are you overweight?

Are you unfit?

Are you unhealthy?

If you answered yes to these questions then it is time to take action. You need to make some changes to your life before your life makes some drastic changes for the worse.

If you are unfit, overweight and unhealthy then you are responsible for that. It is not the food companies with their clever adverts. It is not your husband or wife because they are the ones doing the cooking. Nor is it your boss at work because he keeps making you work every hour god sent.

You always have a choice.

And

You are the one in control of your choices.

Nobody forced the chocolate bar into your mouth after your lunch. Nobody held a gun to your head and made you order a pizza.

Sometimes it is hard to admit we are doing something wrong. We can often need a little bit of tough love.

You have to realize and accept that you are 100% in control of your choices. These choices you make have a direct influence on who and how you are and life. Until you learn to take responsibility for these choices your life will never change for you.

In saying all that we also need to accept that we are all individuals and have our own features and bodies.

None of us are made the same!

Following on from that none of us have the perfect body either. So you need to forget about looking at the models on the front of your favorite magazine. These images are fake and photo-shopped out of complete recognition.

Forcing yourself to look like that and thinking that is how you should look has serious side effects also. Saying I wish I could look like that is a completely unrealistic goal.

For a start you have completely different genes from them. Your body is different in shape and size. Experts are then hired to remove every blemish and sign of normal life. Finally to get the image they have these models have to lead an incredible unhealthy lifestyle. They have to devote their life to the gym. They have to eat a very specific meal plan day in and day out of very bland and boring foods. Their social life is non existent because they can’t eat or drink anything that is not on their meal plan. None of them are happy doing this.

Further more none of them are happy with their bodies either. They all wish they had more of this or less of that. So if they are not happy with their bodies and you are looking at them as having the perfect body.

How do any of the rest of us stand a chance?

What you need to do is focus on your progress. Make sure that you are getting better every single day and that every day you are taking another step closer to your goal. Nobody wants you to be perfect. All you have to do is do one step better than what you did yesterday.

All you can do is do the absolute best you can do with what you have been blessed with. If you do that then you will be able to look at yourself with the pride of a true champion. Anyone who works to the best of their ability to achieve their goal is always going to be a winner.

As James Allen said “circumstances do not make a man they reveal him”

If you are not happy with what you have got or happy with where you are. The it is time to step up, take responsibility and grab the reigns. You have to take control of where you want your life to go.

Don’t forget in the process though that you have been blessed with so many blessing. It is very easy for us to loose sight of these. To help you take stock of all that is good in life do one simple exercise.

Grab a pen and note book. Before you go to bed every night write down 3 positive things that happened to you today. Or 3 things you are grateful for today.
